Halloween is my favorite special occasion to decorate.  As an innkeeper/owner and an interior designer, I look forward to decorating the Inn, especially the dining room.  This year, my guests came to breakfast each morning and were treated to some "spooky" decorations.  Their breakfasts were served on pumpkin plates, coffee in black mugs, cereal and fruit in black bowls and juice in monster cups.  They especially enjoyed the skeletons, bats and spiders that were hung from the crystal chandeliere.  Black and orange candles, black napkins, black placemats and cobwebs added to the fun.  In the evening guests sipped on "Evil" and "Vampire" wines.  Yes, there are actually wines with these names and they are quite good.  Now I'm working on my Thanksgiving decorations so plan your get-away to our fabulous B&B and check out what's in store for the next holiday.  Remember that a bit of playfulness and laughter are good for the soul.  We like to have fun here and we know you will enjoy our sense of humor!

Six is a lot of wines to do a tasting with. Its nice to have a few ssgales on the table at one time, to compare between. But Ive been to tastings with 6 or 7 ssgales in front of me, and the tastes start to jumble together. So I suggest maybe having an Act I and Act II, each with 3 wines, or some logical division based on the varietals. Between Acts, gather the ssgales and wash them thoroughly with hot water. The guests can drink water and eat bread during this time. I do not feel it is necessary to dry them, just let the ssgales come to room temp before pouring the next Act.A notes page is a must.Oh, and for keeping track of the ssgales, you can use a sheet of paper with circles on it and the name of the wine under each circle. Guests can set their ssgales on the appropriate circle, and it helps keep track of which is which.
