Vermont Lightening StrikeIt was around 6:30 pm last night and David and I were in our truck on Route 12, heading north towards Barnard.  All day, storms had been in the area.  The sky was quite ominous but quiet at present.  All of a sudden we were blinded by a tremendous streak of lightening that flashed across the front windshield of the truck.  The blinding light forced us to immediately slow way down.  The lightening bolt must have struck our truck.  As the bolt hit the truck, a tremendous rumble came from the ground underneath the truck.  The ground continued to rumble and the truck was shaking violently.  We thought all four tires had blown.  Just as quickly as it began, it was over and we continued our journey north, although now a bit shaken up and in total awe of what had just occurred.  David and I have seen and experienced many thunder and lightening storms but this lightening strike was something else!
