Robin in Spring puts a knot in my stomach.  Some people choose to believe it's a reality - others do not.  I grew up in Connecticut, then lived in Southern California for 28 years and now have been a resident of Vermont for 13 years.  For 61 years (yes, you now know my age) I've experienced the change in our weather patterns, both east coast and west coast - doesn't make a difference.  I believe global warming is very real and very frightening.  It's been too consistent not to be a reality.  This past March - and it was very early March - I looked out my family room window and much to my amazement there were at least 15 robins by the pond.  That, in itself, was extremely unusual but then I saw one robin actually pull a live worm from the ground - incredible for early March when the ground is normally frozen hard like rock.  Our April weather has been more like May and even June.  Blooms are fast appearing on all the trees, the sound of peepers fills the air, birds are building their nests, temperatures have been conducive to wearing T-shirts and sandals, daffodils have bloomed, our lilacs are ready to bloom, we didn't really have a mud season and the grass needs to be mowed! As much as I dislike the mystery and uncertainty of global warming, it can have its advantages.  So head on up to a great little B&B in Vermont and see what I mean!
