The acreage of our B&B in Woodstock, VT is adorned with beautiful perennial gardens and offers spectacular views of the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire. Many old hiking trails that lead to nowhere meander through the surrounding woods and are bordered by time-worn stonewalls and giant hardwoods.
In the early evenings of summer, guests may get a glimpse of a flock of wild turkeys, or an occasional bold deer may dart across the expansive back lawn into the cool and dark woods. And when the evening shadows turn to nightfall, flickering fireflies dance about the fields and pastures of this Vermont getaway.
With old fireplaces of brick and stone, a wrap-around porch, glimmering swimming pond, gazebo, pergolas, magnificent country barns and an enchanted guest cottage, this property reflects peace and tranquility. Accessible, yet private and far from the bustling city, our guests will enjoy this superb escape.
The main house was built in circa 1800 but many additions and renovations occurred in later years. Only 4 rooms are available which allow us to provide much personal attention to our guests. We also offer the ultimate in privacy and enchanting luxury in our impressive country cottage.
Day’s end will find our guests gathered in the library, playing cards, backgammon, monopoly or just curled up with a glass of wine, a good book and listening to soft music. Our guests are also invited to enjoy the facilities in our workout room. With advance notice, a massage therapist is available to pamper and indulge.
For our more adventuresome guests a hot air balloon ride is available. With advance notice and weather permitting, lift off from the farm’s back lawn on an unforgettable journey. Perhaps you may wish to slow down the pace and explore the local farms, fields and forests, ever-changing with the seasons. Or you may enjoy to picnic in the gazebo or by the pond. In winter, the glistening white, snow-covered fields just down the road may tempt you to enjoy cross-country skiing.
Awaken each morning to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee followed by a savory breakfast. Although the dining room possesses all the prerequisites for formal elegance, the atmosphere is cheerful and relaxed. Guests sometimes sit for hours around the large candlelit table engaged in friendly conversation, while listening to soft background music and the crackle of burning logs.
