There is something about Vermont that lures the romantic and the adventurous

Quite possibly, it's our unspoiled mountains, picture-perfect towns and friendly villagers, covered bridges, historic sites, pristine lakes and babbling brooks. But whether it's our scenic back roads and breathtaking views or the fascination of rustic, mixed with refined, people travel from around the world to experience the timeless beauty of this magical state. And we have lots to do....

Quechee is quaint, charming and very popular with Vermont vacationers. Plan to spend some time here and enjoy the many attractions:

  • The Quechee Gorge - Scenic and easy walking/hiking trails - located directly behind our inn - Vermont's "Little Grand Canyon" with a depth of 168 feet
  • Hot-Air Ballooning - Lift off from the backyard of the Inn or the Quechee Village Green with Balloons of Vermont.  They fly year round, even in winter
  • Drive - Hop in your vehicle and drive........yes, take a drive.  If you enjoy spectacular scenery, explore our back roads, visit our quaint towns and chat with our villagers
  • Quechee/Woodstock is a walker's paradise with an interconnected, compact system of pathways, trails, and carriage roads. They take you from the historic center of Woodstock, across meadows and woodlands, through a national park and up to scenic vistas overlooking valleys, villages, and rural countryside.  Take a day hike or a short stroll. Enjoy the rich conifer forests of Mount Peg, the historic core of Woodstock Village and its pedestrian pathways, Faulkner Park, Billings Park, the Vermont Land Trust's King Farm, and the historic carriage roads and paths of the Marsh-Billings- Rockefeller National Historical Park.  Luce's Lookout is a 2.5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Woodstock, Vermont that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.  If you are seeking a more back-country experience, the Appalachian Trail passes just north of Woodstock, and the Long Trail is not far away. There are several Appalachian Trail access points in and around Woodstock and access points to the Long Trail are less than an hour drive away.

Now, she’s opened up what was once her commercial bakery and cookbook test kitchen to small groups of students. She’s a regular contributor to Better Homes and Gardens.  This amazing woman bakes and eats.  She thinks about what she’s going to bake while she’s eating the thing she just baked.  She writes books about baking and she’s the host of her own baking show on Food Network called “Baked in Vermont.” What she loves, more than anything, is to teach all that she knows and loves about baking. When you book a class at Sugar Glider Kitchen, you’ll enjoy a hands on baking class like no other. You’ll leave the studio armed with knowledge and inspiration.
